What Is OEM Manufacturing?

OEM, or original equipment manufacturing, is the model where a brand or product owner commissions a manufacturer to produce a product to their exact design and specification. The intellectual property stays with the client. The manufacturer is responsible for production quality, process control and delivery.

It is sometimes called build-to-print or build-to-specification manufacturing. The defining characteristic is that the design is fixed and owned by the client, and the manufacturer’s job is to produce it accurately, consistently and at scale.

OEM manufacturing is the right model when:

  • You have completed product development and hold the design files, BOMs and technical specifications

Full In-House OEM Production, from Tooling to Fulfilment

OEM manufacturing at Europhils is not limited to assembly. Because our facility is fully integrated, we manage every stage of the build process in-house. For most product categories, that means we can take your design from raw materials and components to finished, tested, packaged product without any part of the process leaving our factory.

Procurement and Component Sourcing

Our Shenzhen sourcing office manages procurement for all OEM projects, sourcing components at competitive rates with full traceability to approved suppliers. Established relationships across Asia give us pricing leverage and supply chain flexibility. All incoming components are inspected before entering production.

Tooling and Mould Manufacturing

Tooling for plastic enclosures and components is produced in-house, so you're not dependent on a third-party toolmaker. Faster iteration on design changes, and tighter control overall, since toolmakers and production run under the same management.

Plastic Injection Moulding

Our injection moulding lines produce enclosures, housings and components to spec, at your required volumes, across a wide range of materials and geometries, with in-house quality control for dimensional consistency.

PCB Assembly and SMD Lines

Automated SMD lines handle PCB assembly with precision and repeatability at volume, supporting a full range of board types and component packages. AOI is integrated into the process to catch issues early. Kitting, paste application, placement and soldering are all managed in-house.

Final Assembly and Integration

Final assembly brings boards and enclosures together: housings fitted, cables and connectors connected, firmware loaded, product built to finished form. With PCB assembly, moulding and final assembly under one roof, we avoid the coordination failures of split supply chains.

Painting and Surface Finishing

Surface finishing is handled in our dedicated painting tunnel, with consistent finishes applied as part of the production flow and UV coating available for added protection or specific aesthetics.

Testing and Quality Control

Quality checks run throughout production, not just at the end: incoming inspection, in-process checks, and functional end-of-line testing against spec. ISO 9001 certified, with a zero-defect policy that reflects how we actually run production.

Packaging and Fulfilment

Products are packaged to spec at our Cebu facility, in retail, bulk or custom formats. We manage export documentation and freight by air or sea, with direct access to Mactan Cebu International Airport and the Port of Cebu, shipping to your warehouse, 3PL partner or distribution points.

How an OEM Project Works with Europhils

1. Design review and feasibility: You provide design files, BOMs and technical specifications. We review them for manufacturability and raise any questions before production is committed.

2. Quotation: We provide a detailed production quotation covering tooling, components, assembly, testing and logistics.

3. Tooling and set-up: Where new moulds or tooling are required, we produce them in-house. Production jigs and test fixtures are set up to your specification.

4. Component procurement: Our Shenzhen office sources components against the approved BOM, with full traceability.

5. First article inspection: Before full production runs, we produce and inspect initial samples against your acceptance criteria.

6. Production: Full production runs proceed through our integrated manufacturing process: injection moulding, PCB assembly, surface finishing, final assembly.

7. Testing and QC: In-process and end-of-line testing to your functional specification, with full documentation.

8. Packaging: Finished products packed to your specification.

9. Shipping: Export documentation managed and product shipped to your nominated destination.
