What Is Injection Moulding For Electronics?

Injection moulding is the standard process for producing plastic parts at volume. Molten polymer is injected under pressure into a precision-machined mould, cooled and ejected, producing identical parts with excellent repeatability and low unit cost. For electronic products, this is how enclosures, housings, buttons, brackets, light guides and internal mechanical parts are made.

Electronics enclosure moulding has demands beyond general plastics work: precise fits around PCBs and connectors, cosmetic surfaces that represent your brand, flame-rated materials, and features like bosses, snap fits and inserts that must assemble reliably at volume. Most electronics manufacturers buy plastic electronic parts from separate moulding shops, adding a supplier interface and a gap in quality responsibility.
